What you get
One purchase, four files. Use the Word file to fill it in, the PDF to print and sign.
- Avtal om datadelning — Swedish · Word (.docx)
- Avtal om datadelning — Swedish · PDF
- Data Sharing Agreement — English · Word (.docx)
- Data Sharing Agreement — English · PDF
Both language versions are written for Swedish law. The English version is for counterparties, partners or colleagues who do not read Swedish — it is a translation of the same document, not a different one.
What the agreement covers
| 1 · Data holder | Who discloses the data, including company representation. |
|---|---|
| 2 · Data recipient | Who receives it. |
| 3 · Data and permitted uses | Seven pre-drafted purposes to mark or delete — internal analysis, product development, model training, service delivery, joint data products — plus space for the data categories and how they are delivered. |
| 4 · Limitations | What the recipient may not do without written consent: sub-transfer, re-identify, combine datasets, or make data available from outside the EU/EEA. |
| 5 · Regulatory context | Whether the sharing rests on contract alone or falls under the DGA or the Data Act. |
| 6 · Contract period | From and to, with a default notice period if you leave the end date open. |
| 7 · Other conditions | Security measures, incident notification, intellectual property, and deletion or return of data when the agreement ends. |
| 8 · Personal data | Which GDPR roles the parties hold, and where a data processing agreement attaches. |
| 9 · Limitation of liability | A fixed cap or one tied to remuneration paid, with the usual carve-outs. |
| 10 · Applicable law and dispute resolution | With a default rule if you leave it blank. |
| 11 · Annexes | Five annexes: data specification, security measures, compensation, data processing agreement, regulatory basis. |
| 12 · Signature | Signature block for both parties. |
When to use it
The template is written for Swedish law and for data sharing between two companies or organisations — a development collaboration, a data delivery to an analytics partner, or the reuse of data a public body has made available.
- A company sending customer or operational data to an analytics or AI partner
- Two businesses building a joint data product
- A supplier delivering data as part of a service
- Reuse of data that a public body has made available
When the template is not enough
Four situations where you should speak to a lawyer before using it:
- Either party passes data between others and may be a data intermediation service under the DGA
- The data comes from a public body and is protected data under DGA Chapter II
- Data is to be transferred to, or made accessible from, countries outside the EU/EEA
- The sharing includes personal data, or data used to train AI models
How it works
- Buy — pay by card. No account needed.
- Download — all four files appear on the confirmation page and in your receipt email.
- Fill it in — open the Word file, complete the fields, mark the purposes that apply and delete the rest. Paragraph 5 decides which regulation governs the sharing.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get it in both Swedish and English?
Yes. Every purchase includes both language versions, in Word and PDF. You do not choose a language at checkout.
Can I edit it?
Yes. The Word file is editable and built to be adapted — fields to fill in, purposes to mark or delete, and space for your own wording.
Can I use it more than once?
Yes, within your own organisation. The licence covers your company’s own use — it does not cover reselling or distributing the document.
What if the document is updated?
When we publish a new version it replaces the file on your account. Your download link always gives you the current version.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is a template. It must be adapted to your circumstances and should be reviewed by a lawyer before it is used. If you want that review, we are here.
